Just take the next useful step.

First 30 Days
You just got here with almost nothing.
That’s okay. A lot of people, including myself, started exactly where you are.
Here’s a simple path for the first month:
Days 1–3
Get a bed at Twin City Mission if you need one.
Get a meal and a shower.
Ask the staff for the current list of food pantries and clothing places. they offer a $50 clothing voucher for their thrift stores.
Days 4–7Go to the public library.
Get a library card if you have proof of local residence, but if not, that's okay too. you can still use computers as a guest, and access their entire library and Wi-Fi. You just can't checkout the books.
Use the computers to start looking for work and check emails. I suggest using Indeed.com.
Week 2Start going to recovery meetings (see the Meetings section).
Begin the process of getting a state ID if you don’t have one.
Ask, or search about any available bus passes or transportation help.
Week 3–4Apply for jobs (Workforce Solutions can help with résumés and applications).
Keep going to meetings.
Take care of one small practical thing each day (laundry, phone calls, paperwork).
You don’t have to fix everything at once.
Just keep taking the next right step.
You’re already doing it by being here.
